
Job Development & Placement Services
Job Development & Placement Services support consumers in identifying, securing, and maintaining competitive employment through individualized guidance and skill-building. Services include resume development, completing paper and online job applications, identifying volunteer opportunities, and assisting with employer outreach, including contacting hiring managers and human resources personnel. Consumers receive coaching in essential workplace soft skills such as professional appearance, punctuality, appropriate on-the-job behavior, and effective time management. Additional supports include mock job interviews, reviewing commonly asked interview questions, arranging job-shadowing opportunities to increase familiarity with potential positions, maintaining task focus while on the job, and learning essential job duties and responsibilities. Instruction is individualized and may include other customary skill-building activities tailored to meet the specific needs and employment goals of each consumer.
